Aurelia & Roman
We often and gladly enjoy relaxation at our beautiful retreat in the Valais Alps. Not only have we fallen in love with each other, but also with Saas Fee.
We are passionate skiers and snowboarders. Aurelia is from the Upper Valais and knows the region inside out. I had the pleasure of vacationing in Saas Fee as a young child, and at the age of 3, I attended ski school for the first time. We have shared our parents' passion and have been hitting the slopes since we were little.
In the summer, we enjoy the many breathtaking hikes in the region. Last summer, we climbed the Allalinhorn with a guide – an easy 4000-meter peak with a stunning view of the Matterhorn and the Mischabel range (on clear days, you can see all the way to Milan). When we are not in Saas Fee, we love spending our free time windsurfing, wing foiling, or bouldering.
We love the atmosphere of the car-free Saas Fee. As soon as we arrive, the stress of everyday life falls away and relaxation begins. The air is wonderfully fresh. A meal in one of our favorite spots or a sauna session in one of the public spas invites complete relaxation.

Restaurants
Favorite
There are numerous great restaurants in Saas Fee, so it’s difficult to choose just one as a favorite.
The pizzeria at Walliserhof is definitely a favorite. The pizzas are prepared in an open, visible stone oven, which creates a wonderful atmosphere.
We also love visiting the Waldhüs Bodmen. Even the walk through the snow-covered forest landscape is a highlight. Additionally, it stands out because of the open stable, where you can watch adorable dwarf rabbits and guinea pigs.
The Essstube is also an experience every time. Especially the creatively decorated dishes make the evening unforgettable.
We generally relax very well during activities such as skiing, snowboarding, hiking, climbing, or simply enjoying a coffee in a nice restaurant.
If the day is rounded off with a visit to a wellness oasis, it’s even better. In Saas Fee, there are several hotels that offer their wellness facilities to guests who are not staying at the hotel.
The Aqua Allalin is a modern wellness center. During the season, several sauna infusions are offered in the early evening hours. After 7:00 PM, the number of visitors often quickly decreases, which allows for perfect relaxation.
The Schweizerhof also offers a comfortable and well-equipped wellness area.
The Walliserhof used to be our favorite wellness center. It’s very beautiful and offers many different options. However, the entrance fee is now about four times higher than it was a few years ago, so we prefer the other locations now.

WELLNESS
SLOPES

Saas Fee offers perfectly groomed slopes. One of our favorite runs is definitely the Glacier Promenade and the Glacier Band; these slopes are wide and ideal for carving.
In fresh snow, the National or the Weisse Perle are a dream for freeride enthusiasts.
Hohsaas (Saas Grund) also impresses with excellent ski and sledding slopes. The area enjoys significantly more sunshine in December and January, and there are often far fewer people on the slopes. A shuttle bus from Alpinexpress goes directly to Saas Grund.
Saas Fee offers a variety of hiking routes with different levels of challenge. A long, beautiful hike leads to Grächen, crossing the high mountains of the Saastal. Relaxing hikes take you around the Mattmark Lake, which is very impressive with its stunning backdrop and the exhibition about its history.
A shorter hike to the Gletschergrotte is also very impressive, followed by an ascent to the Marmot Trail. The marmots here are quite tame and will take treats right from your hands – just make sure to get there early (in the morning, they’re hungry; after tourists arrive, they’re full and enjoy a long nap).
Another beautiful hike over the glaciers, ideally done with a mountain guide, is the Allalinhorn. It is the easiest 4000-meter peak, which we climbed in the summer.
The multi-day Saaser Hut Tour (SAC Weissmieshütte, Almagellerhütte, Britaniahütte, Mischabelhütte) showcases the high alpine side of the Saas Fee/Saastal holiday region.
Nightlife
& Aprés Ski

There are several options for a great night out in Saas Fee. Especially the après-ski at Larix or other locations near the Glacier Bridge invite you to a lively party atmosphere.
Further up in the village, the Walliserhof offers a more refined après-ski with live music at times. A highlight is the End of Season Party in Saas Fee, which attracts many people from the valley – the village street turns into a festive mile.
In the evening, Project-X and several cool bars like the Old Cinema or Pubwise are perfect for a night of celebration.
12-inchCoffee
Located right in the heart of Saas Fee, 12-inchCoffee offers a cozy atmosphere. Guests can not only enjoy excellent coffee but also a selection of snacks and pastries.
Summit Coffee and Lounge
With a modern, cozy interior, Summit Coffee and Lounge offers a great ambiance, and the relaxed atmosphere invites you to linger. It’s perfect for a break after an active day in the mountains.
The Coffee House
Another great spot for coffee lovers in Saas Fee, The Coffee House serves excellent coffee in a very cozy setting. In addition to a great selection of coffee specialties, there are also delicious cakes and snacks.
Frederiks
In addition to coffee, Frederiks also offers a small but delicious menu. In the summer, we love the large ice cream dishes, and in the winter, you can enjoy a delicious soup to warm up.
